Air Force Falls at UC Davis

DAVIS, Calif. - Air Force women's basketball dropped a 66-40 contest at UC Davis in non-conference action Monday night at The Pavilion. Sophomore Cortney Porter led the Falcons with season-high's of 16 points and seven rebounds.
Air Force hung tough in the first half, getting to within five points of UC Davis (2-2) with under two minutes before halftime. But a 5-0 run put UCD ahead 28-18 at halftime.
The Aggies began to pull away in the second half by getting to the free throw line and scoring in the paint. UC Davis had 27 total free throw attempts and scored 40 points in the paint.
Porter hit three, three-point baskets for the Falcons, also recording two steals. The guard has led Air Force in scoring in all but one game this season. Junior forward Sarah Fotsch came off the bench to tie a career-high with nine rebounds.
Junior guard Sydney Graham added seven points and two assists. Junior forwarded Myah Jackson had five rebounds and sophomore forward Dee Bennett added five boards.
Center Alyson Doherty led UC Davis with 18 points and nine rebounds. Forward Celia Marfone added 11 points and three blocked shots.
Air Force returns to action Monday, Nov. 30, at Vanderbilt. Tip time, at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, Tenn., is 8 pm CT.
