Air Force Downed At Southern Utah

CEDAR CITY, Utah - Air Force women's basketball dropped a 75-56 contest at Southern Utah in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at Centrum Arena. Guards Sydney Graham and Cortney Porter led the Falcons with 10 points each.
The Falcons scored its most points on the road this season. In addition, the Falcons were able to get to the free throw line 19 times, making 14 for a season-best 73.7 percentage. Air Force out-rebounded its opponent for the first time on the road this season, holding a 38-33 advantage on the boards.
Graham paced the Falcons in scoring, making three field goals and a pair of free throws. The junior hit a pair of three-point baskets to tie her career-high for points. Porter made three field goals, including a three-pointer, and had three free throws. The sophomore added four rebounds and two assists.
Forwards Dee Bennett and Sarah Fotsch added eight points each for the Falcons. Bennett added three rebounds and two assists and Fotsch had five rebounds. Forward Taylor Parker had six points and three rebounds and forward Cheyenne Wall chipped in with six points and three boards as well. Forward Myah Jackson led the Falcons with six rebounds.
Another slow start had the Falcons chasing the Thunderbirds (2-7) throughout. Southern Utah took a 19-9 lead after the first quarter and led 41-24 at the half. Air Force played a much better second half, scoring 32 points while SUU scored 34.
Breanu Reid and Jessica Richardson led Southern Utah with 17 points each.
Air Force returns to action Saturday, Dec. 19, at George Mason in Fairfax, Va.
