Air Force Falls Wednesday at New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Air Force women's basketball (2-20, 1-10 Mountain West) dropped a 69-46 contest at New Mexico (11-10, 7-3 MW) in Mountain West action Wednesday night at The PIT. Senior Jimi Blagowsky led the Falcons with 15 points.

Forward Khadijah Shumpert led the Lobos with 13 points and six rebounds and guard Antiesha Brown added 10 points and five rebounds.

In addition to her 15 points, Blagowsky tied for the team-lead with five rebounds and four assists. Freshman Cortney Porter scored 13 points to go with five rebounds and four assists. Senior Lindsey Lewis added 10 points.

The Lobos utilized a 46-23 advantage in rebounds and 36-18 advantage in points in the paint for the win.

The Falcons struggled in the first-half, trailing 38-13 at the break. Air Force played much better in the second-half, out-scoring the Lobos 33-31 in the second half.

Air Force returns to action Saturday, Feb. 7, at Wyoming. Tipoff, at Arena Auditorium in Laramie, Wyo., is 2 pm.
