
Falcons Place Three On Madness Preseason All-Conference Team

Sophomore outfielder Tyler Jones, junior outfielder Spencer Draws and senior infielder Noah Pierce have been named to the 2015 College Sports Madness Preseason Mountain West All-Conference team, announced Friday. Jones earned first-team honors while Draws and Pierce earned second team.
Jones is coming off a freshman campaign where he led the team with a .338 average, 19 doubles and 31 RBIs. The Coppell, Texas native earned Freshman All-American honors and was Air Force's first freshman to earn all-conference honors since 1991.
Draws is a two-year starter coming off a sophomore campaign where he batted .269 with 53 hits and 26 runs scored. His batting average of .304 in conference play ranked third on the team.
Pierce ranked second on the team as a junior, batting .296 with three homers and 25 RBIs. The Orlando, Fla. native returned from a serious knee injury suffered early in his sophomore year to start 49 games for the Falcons at second and third base in 2014.
A fourth Falcon also earned a preseason accolades in January. Griffin Jax was named the #60 sophomore pro prospect by Perfect Game. Jax, a right-hand pitcher from Greenwood Village, set a freshman record with 90.2 innings pitched last season.
Air Force baseball opens the season in seven days, playing a three-game set at The Citadel, beginning Feb. 14.
