
Bennett Earns Academic All-Mountain West Honors

Dee Bennett of Air Force women's basketball earned Academic All-Mountain West honors, announced by the conference office today. The rising sophomore picked up her first-career academic honor.
Bennett, a native of Miami, Fla., was one of Air Force's top freshmen during the 2014-15 season, averaging 3.0 points and ranking second with 4.5 rebounds per game. She was Air Force's leading shot-blocker with 15 blocks. as a forward/guard. Bennett appeared in 29 games, making 12 starts.
A league-record 959 student-athletes were named to the spring 2015 Academic All-Mountain West team. Spring sports include baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, softball, women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis and men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field. The mark surpasses the previous Conference record of 909 spring semester honorees, set during the 2013-14 academic year.
To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
