Air Force Travels to Ozone Collegiate Classic

The Air Force women's gymnastics team returns to action this Saturday (Jan. 16), when it travels to Knoxville, Tenn., to face Iowa State, Pittsburgh and Southeast Missouri State at the fourth-annual Ozone Collegiate Gymnastics Classic.

MEET INFORMATION
The Ozone Collegiate Gymnastics Classic will take place at the Knoxville Convention Center (701 Henley Street) and begin at 8:00 p.m. (EST). The collegiate meet, which runs in conjunction with the Ozone Invitational, will include Air Force, Iowa State, Pittsburgh and Southeast Missouri State. Tickets, which are $15 for adults (13+) and $10 for children (6-12), are available for purchase at the door of the convention center.
SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
Iowa State holds the highest national ranking of the Falcons' three opponents, as the Cyclones are tied for 32nd with a 194.025. Iowa State, which lost its season opener at No. 23 Minnesota (194.700) last week, was led by Megan Sievers, who finished first on the floor exercise (9.825) and second on the vault (9.850). Southeast Missouri State, ranked 47th with a 191.975, finished second to Lindenwood (192.675) in its home opener. The Redhawks collected four event titles in the meet, as Mackenzie Jones won the balance beam (9.750) and floor exercise (9.825), Lauren Isreal tied for first on the uneven bars (9.800) and Ashley Thomas won the all-around (38.650). Ranked 52nd with a 191.050, Pittsburgh finished fourth at a quadrangular meet that included two top-25 teams. Lindsay Offutt paced the Panthers with first-place finishes on the beam (9.900), floor exercise (9.800) and all-around (39.100). Offutt's score of 9.900 on the beam is tied for fourth in the nation.
WE'LL BE SEEING YOU
Air Force will face Southeast Missouri State two more times this season, including next week in Texas and at the Academy in late February. The Falcons will also compete against Iowa State once more in 2016, as the two squads are scheduled to meet in Ames, Iowa, next month.
WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE FALCONS
Air Force remains on the road next weekend, as it travels to Denton, Texas, for the TWU Quadrangular on Sunday, Jan. 24. In addition to facing Southeast Missouri State for the second straight week, the Falcons will also take on Centenary and Texas Woman's University in the 1:00 p.m., meet at Kitty Magee Arena.
