Air Force Falls at Fresno State

FRESNO, Calif. - Air Force women's basketball dropped a 70-46 Mountain West contest at Fresno State Saturday afternoon at Save Mart Center. Forward Taylor Parker and guard Cortney Porter scored 11 points each to lead the Falcons.
Fresno State (11-7, 7-0) jumped out to a 25-7 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Guard Breanne Knishka led the Bulldogs with 15 points. Bego Faz Davalos notched a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The Falcons trailed 41-17 at the half, but were much improved in the second half. Air Force played to an even 29-29 score in the latter half.
The Falcons played a strong third quarter, out-scoring the Bulldogs 14-10. Air Force opened the second-half with a 9-0 win and did not allow Fresno State to score a bucket for the first six minutes.
Parker was 5 of 10 from the field with three rebounds and three assists. Porter also had team-high's with four assists and three steals. Guard Sarah Cantu came off the bench to add nine points for the Falcons, hitting a pair of 3 point baskets. Forward Sarah Fotsch scored seven points and pulled down four rebounds.
Air Force returns to action Wednesday, Jan. 27, hosting New Mexico. Tip time, at Clune Arena, is 7 pm.
