Air Force Falls To Wyoming

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force women's basketball dropped a 67-45 Mountain West contest to Wyoming Wednesday night at Clune Arena. Junior Sarah Fotsch led the Falcons with eight points and senior Taylor Parker added seven points and 10 rebounds.
Air Force got off to a strong start taking an early 10-8 lead after the first quarter. Wyoming (9-4, 2-1) then out-scored the Falcons 21-12 in the second quarter to take a 29-22 halftime lead. The Cowgirls dominated the scoring inside, out-scoring the Falcons 40-18 in the paint.
Four Falcons had at least seven points each, led by Fotsch. The forward was 3 of 8 from the field, hitting Air Force's lone 3-point basket. Parker added seven points and notched a career-high in rebounds. The forward also had two blocked shots.
Cortney Porter added seven points and three rebounds and guard Sarah Cantu also scored seven, converting 5 of 6 free throw attempts. Forward Dee Bennett added four points and seven rebounds.
Wyoming had four players reach double-figures in scoring. Guard Marquelle Dent had 19 points and forward Rachelle Tucker added 16. Guard Liv Roberts also notched a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The 67 points allowed by the Falcons was the fewest against the Cowgirls dating back to the 2009 season.
Air Force returns to action Saturday, Jan. 9, at Nevada. Tip time, at Lawler Events Center, is 4 pm PT.
