Air Force Wrestling Sweeps the Borah Duals

Gunnison, Colo. - Air Force wrestling concluded action at the 26th-annual Tracy Borah Duals hosted by Western State University. Air Force went undefeated on the event earning wins against CSU-Pueblo (41-6), Western State (23-10), and Colorado Mesa (27-12) and improving their dual slate record to 4-2.
Air Force opened their Borah duals slate against CSU-Pueblo with a 41-6 win. Freshmen John Twomey and Alex Lopouchanski led the Falcons earning bonus points with commanding tech fall victories. Jerry McGinty and Parker Hines also tallied bonus points earning a major decision (13-4) in the 149 class and an injury default in the 197 class.
Air Force was on track for the clean sweep but decided to forfeit the heavyweight class giving the Thunder Wolves their only six points of the dual.
In their second dual of the day, Air Force squared off against host university, Western State. The Falcons went on to win eight of the 10 bouts with a final team score of 23-10. Lopouchanski and Hines both earned major decisions in their weight classes.
The Falcons would see more resistance in their final dual of the day against Colorado Mesa University, giving up three bouts. Air Force picked up wins in seven of 10 weight classes, earning a 27-12 finish over Colorado Mesa. Freshmen Issac Jimenez, Anthony McLaughlin and Twomey all earned bonus points from major decision victories.
The Falcons concluded the Borah Duals undefeated (3-0), amassing 91 team points and only giving up 28 points to opponents. Lopouchanski, McLaughlin and Hines led the Falcons going 3-0 apiece on the day.
