Air Force Opens Season with Friday Night Fights

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force boxing team kicked off the 2016-17 season this afternoon (Oct. 7), when it hosted the first Friday Night Fights event of the season inside the Academy's Boxing Room. Eight Falcons competed during the season-opening meet, with sophomore Isaiah Honorable earning Boxer of the Week.

Honable earned the weekly award after claiming a 166-pound victory over classmate Alvin Nix.

Sophomore EJ Reyes kicked off the season with a 133-pound win over fellow sophomore Virbon Frial, while freshman Levi Rate decisioned fellow freshman Patrick Connell in a 147-pound contest. In a battle of the Eppinger family, sophomore Noah defeated senior Zach.

Air Force returns to action on Oct. 21, when it hosts its second round of Friday Night Fights at 4:30 p.m.
