
Falcons With 71-48 Exhibition Win Over Western State

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force women's basketball coasted to a 71-48 exhibition win over Western State Sunday afternoon at Clune Arena. Freshman guard Sarah Pierce led the Falcons with 23 points.
Air Force played stout defense against Western State, holding the Mountaineers to 29 percent shooting from the field. The Falcons also blocked eight shots and had 12 steals.
Junior forward Dee Bennett scored eight points as Air Force's next-leading scorer. Freshman forward Kassady Huffman had nine rebounds and five blocked shots. Junior guard Cortney Porter had five steals and four assists.
Brianna Wilber led Western State with 11 points. Katie Navjar had 12 rebounds.
Air Force led 22-12 after the first quarter and 36-20 at halftime. The Falcons had a 16-0 run in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.
The Falcons open the 2016-17 regular season this Friday, Nov. 11, at Denver.
