Air Force concludes fall schedule at Hawaii Invitational

Air Force concluded its fall schedule with the second day of action at the Hawaii Invitational in Honolulu, Hawaii, Saturday. The Falcons won five doubles matches and two singles matches.
Elizabeth Barnickel and Nadeen Lieberman won twice Saturday in doubles, beating Saga Shermis and Sophia Storch of Hawaii, 6-1, and the mixed team of Dallas Zhang of BYU-Hawaii and Shermis, 6-2. Chloe and Lily Forlini beat Michelle Pits and Klara Pribylova of Hawaii, 6-3 while TJ Fumagalli and Jocelle Rudico beat Pribylova and Roxanne Resma of Hawaii, 6-2. Meredith Laskey teamed with BYU-Hawaii's Zhang to beat dos Santo and Green of HPU, 6-0 in a split match. Laskey was a winner in singles, beating Alzbeta Houbova of Hawaii, 6-4, 6-2, while Barnickel beat Nikola Dolakova of Hawaii, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.
"We certainly had the team finish on high notes the last two tournaments of the fall," Air Force Head Coach Kim Gidley said. "Each time, we are having different individuals step up. I was particularly pleased with our younger members of competing so well in singles (Barnickel, Laskey & Lieberman). It's been a pretty spectacular fall and the team has made strides in all areas. Our doubles was better today. It was nice to see Lieberman & Barnickel win their flight. Overall, we broke many records this fall, but the team can continue to get better in the off season to come out strong in spring!"
