
Falcons beat Sacred Heart, 3-1

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Air Force scored three third-period goals in a 3-1 win over Sacred Heart in an Atlantic Hockey Conference game, Friday, Dec. 30, at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Conn.
After two scoreless periods, the Falcons got on the board midway through the third when Tyler Ledford scored from Phil Boje on the power play at 10:27. The Falcons took a 2-1 lead at 15:09 when A.J. Reid scored from Dylan Abood. Late in the third, the Pioneers cut the Falcons lead to one with 1:49 left when Kory Kennedy scored short-handed. With 90 seconds left in the game, the Pioneers pulled the goalie for the extra attacker. With seven seconds left, sophomore Evan Feno sealed the win with an empty-net goal . Feno's goal was assisted by Erik Baskin and Evan Giesler.
Air Force (10-6-3 overall and 7-3-1 AHC) outshot Sacred Heart, 26-22. The Falcons were 1-for-7 on the power play while SHU was 0-for-2. Shane Starrett made 21 saves for the Falcons while Nathan Perry made 23 for the Pioneers.
Air Force and Sacred Heart(6-11-2, 4-9-0 AHC) conclude the series on Saturday, Dec. 31, at 3:05 pm ET in Bridgeport, Conn.
