Army downs Air Force in West Point

Jordan Fox scored 20 points to lead three Black Knights in double figures as Army defeated Air Force, 79-71, Wednesday night in a non-conference men's basketball game in Christl Arena in West Point, N.Y.
Army out-scored Air Force, 29-4, over a 10 minute stretch in the first half to jump to its biggest lead, 33-11, with 4:59 to play in the half. The Falcons, who opened the game hitting just five of its first 27 field goals, closed the half on an 8-0 run to cut the lead to 36-21 at the half. Army hit 15 of its 22 field goals and finished the half hitting 55.6 percent from the field on 15-of-27 shooting.
The Black Knights kept the lead in double digits throughout the second half until Air Force used a 13-3 run to cut the lead to seven, 71-64, with 2:54 to play in the game, but couldn't get any closer.
Army finished the game shooting 50 percent from the field and held a 38-32 rebounding edge. The Black Knights hit 44 percent from 3-point range on 12-of-27 shooting. Tommy Funk added 13 points and Jacob Kessler 12 for Army.
Air Force was led by Zach Kocur, who scored a career-high 22 points and hit a season-best five 3-pointers. Jacob Van added 13 points while Trevor Lyons and Hayden Graham each chipped in with 10 points. The Falcons shot just 39.1 percent from the field, including a season-low 22.6 in the first half.
Air Force falls to 6-4 overall this season. Army improves to 5-4 overall.
