The 11th-ranked Air Force men's gymnastics team returns to the Academy this weekend for a pair of meets against No. 19 Illinois-Chicago. The Falcons will first face the Flames at 6:00 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 26, as a part of a double dual that will run in conjunction with a women's meet against Southeast Missouri. Air Force and UIC will meet again in a single dual on Sunday, Feb. 28, at 1:00 p.m.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Illinois-Chicago, ranked 19th in the national rankings with a three-score average of 392.717, last competed at the Peachtree Collegiate Invitational on Feb. 13. With a season-high score of 399.000, the Flames finished third to William and Mary (409.600) and Springfield (409.150). UIC claimed two event victories during the meet, as Alex Dumstorf won the floor exercise (14.950) and Trent Jarrett won the still rings (13.800).
AIR FORCE IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Backed by a fifth-place ranking on the pommel horse (71.133, three-score average), Air Force is ranked among the nation's top-10 in four of the six events. Individually, Tim Wang is ranked fourth on the pommel horse (15.233), while Arinn Wade is listed 16th on that event with a three-score average of 14.683. In addition, Denis Aurelius is tied for 20th on the still rings with a 14.700 average.
WANG FINISHES SEVENTH AT WINTER CUP CHALLENGE
With a combined two-day total of 29.600, Tim Wang finished seventh on the pommel horse at the Winter Cup Challenge – claiming the highest finish ever by an Academy gymnast. Wang, who advanced to the second night after scoring a 14.650 to finish second during the preliminary round, registered the fourth-highest pommel horse score of the finals with a 14.950. His two-day score was tied for the second-highest total by a collegiate gymnast on that event, as the full field of 40 featured Olympians and members of the U.S. Senior National Team.

With his finish at the Winter Cup Challenge, Tim Wang qualified to the U.S. Championships in June.
WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE FALCONS
The Falcons close out the home portion of their season next weekend, as they host fifth-ranked Illinois and ninth-ranked California at the Academy on Saturday, March 5. Air Force will honor its two seniors – Denis Aurelius and Josh Pyne – during the meet, which is slated to begin at 4:00 p.m.
