Air Force Downed By Fresno State

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force women's basketball lost to Fresno State, 63-48, in a Mountain West contest Wednesday night at Clune Arena. Sophomore Dee Bennett led the Falcons with 13 points and six rebounds.
Air Force had the conference's second place team on the ropes late into the game, leading 41-38 after three quarters. Fresno State (16-9, 12-2 MW) rallied, however, with a 25-7 burst in the fourth quarter for the comeback win.
Four Bulldogs reached double-figures in scoring. Center Bego Faz Davalos led Fresno State with 18 points and added seven rebounds and four blocked shots.
Bennett was 5 of 9 from the field and also led the Falcons with a blocked shot. Juniors Sarah Fotsch and Sydney Graham chipped in with eight points each. Graham hit a pair of 3-point baskets for AFA. Sophomore Cortney Porter added six points, four assists and three steals. Freshman Cheyenne Wall provided offense off the bench, scoring six points and grabbing two rebounds.
Fresno State led 12-9 after the first quarter. The Falcons played strong defense in the second quarter to out-score the Bulldogs 14-12 and pull to within one at 24-23 at the half. Air Force out-scored Fresno State 18-14 in the third quarter to build a three point lead.
Air Force returns to action Tuesday, March 1, at Utah State. Tip time, at Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, is 7 pm.
