Air Force Downed By Boise State, 61-48

BOISE, Idaho - Air Force women's basketball dropped a 61-48 Mountain West contest at Boise State Saturday afternoon at Taco Bell Arena. Sophomore Sarah Cantu led the Falcons with 15 points.
A 13-0 run to start the game by Boise State (15-6, 8-2 MW) was ultimately the difference as the teams played to a 48-48 draw the rest of the way. The Falcons closed out the game with a 14-1 run for its second-closest game in Mountain West play so far this season.
Shay Shaw led the Broncos with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Cantu was 5 of 11 from the field, hitting a career-high four 3 point baskets. Sophomore Dee Bennett added 10 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Venessannah Itugbu had a career-high 10 rebounds. Sophomore Cortney Porter chipped in with nine points, six rebounds and three assists.
The Falcons trailed 24-11 after the first quarter and 38-22 at halftime. Air Force out-scored Boise State 26-23 in the second half.
Air Force returns to action Wednesday, Feb. 10, hosting Nevada. Tip time, at Clune Arena, is 7 pm.
