Liz Pennington, Abby Miksch Earn All-Tournament Honors

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – Following standout performances during the opening weekend, Air Force sophomores Abigail Miksch and Elizabeth Pennington were named to the all-tournament team of the Amy Svoboda Memorial Classic. The Falcons posted a 2-1 record during the two-day tournament, which was held Aug. 26-27 at Clune Arena.
Backed by a pair of 20-kill matches, both Miksch (4.13) and Pennington (4.00) averaged at least four kills again during the season-opening, three-match tournament. The pair both broke the 20-kill mark in the match against Jacksonville State, as Miksch tallied 23 and Pennington added 21. Pennington improved her career-high to 23 against Montana State, while Miksch notched 22 against Grand Canyon. For the weekend, Miksch amassed 62 kills on .206 hitting, three aces, 29 digs and five blocks, while Pennington collected 60 kills on .253 hitting, five aces, 13 digs and four blocks.
The pair were joined on the all-tournament team by Grand Canyon's Natalie Tardy and Heidi Carpenter, Montana State's Natalie Passeck and Allyssa Rizzo, and Jacksonville State's Hannah Kirk.
