Falcons head West for three matches

This week: Air Force travels West for three matches this weekend. The Falcons take on Puget Sound and Seattle on Friday, Feb. 24, at 3 and 7:30 p.m., respectively. The team closes the weekend at UC Davis on Sunday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m.
Last week: Air Force dropped a pair of matches. The Falcons lost to Colorado, 4-3, Feb. 15 at home and at Florida State, 5-2, Feb. 18.
Seven in a row: Air Force finished last season with a 13-12 mark to post a winning record for the seventh straight season, a first at the Division I level.
Forlini sets record: Senior Chloe Forlini became the winningest player in school history earlier this season. She became the program's all-time leader in combined singles and doubles wins with her doubles win over Pacific. Forlini has 172 career combined wins to surpass the record of 170 set by Natasha Rizvi from 2011-15.
She is No. 1 in school history in career singles wins with 93. She surpassed the record 88 set by Sarah Cassman from 2007-11. Forlini has a 93-39 career singles record and a 79-44 career doubles mark.
Fumagalli undefeated: Freshman TJ Fumagalli is undefeated in singles this spring, posting an 11-0 record. Fumagalli is 10-1 overall in doubles, but is 8-0 with partner Elizabeth Barnickel. Fumagalli leads the Falcons with a 22-3 overall singles record and a 26-7 mark in doubles.
Rankings: Senior Chloe Forlini is ranked seventh in the Mountain Region rankings. Her ranking is the highest for a singles player in school history. For the first time in program history, the Falcons have a No. 1 ranking. Freshman TJ Fumagalli and senior Jocelle Rudico are ranked No. 1 doubles in the Mountain Region.
Head Coach Kim Gidley: Kim Gidley is in her 19th season as head coach of the women's tennis team at the Air Force Academy. The first civilian head coach in the 37-year history of the program, Gidley became the winningest coach in the history of the program in 2003 with her 76th victory. She recorded her 100th career victory during the 2005-06 season against South Dakota State and her 200th against Seattle University in 2014-15. She has a 247-241 career record. Gidley has led the Falcons to seven straight winning seasons which is a first in the Division I era (1996).
