
Falcons Finish Second at Navy Triangular

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Air Force men's gymnastics combined for five event titles and finished second in the team standings during the Navy Triangular this evening (March 10) in Annapolis. The ninth-ranked Falcons recorded a team score of 396.300 to finish second behind service academy rival No. 11 Navy (404.100) and edge No. 14 William and Mary (396.250).
Senior Tim Wang matched his Academy record score of 14.900 to win the vault by more than one-half point, while also earning first-place honors on the still rings (14.500) and pommel horse (14.300). Junior Jonathan Fornoff scored a 14.500 to win the parallel bars and senior Chase Cannon rounded out the Falcons' list of event winners with a first-place finish on the high bar (14.250).
Air Force earned a one-two finish in the vault, as sophomore Eric Klein finished second to Wang with a 14.350. The Falcons also accounted for three of the top-five finishes on the high bar, with Cannon leading Wang (fourth, 13.500) and sophomore Lukas Texeira (fifth, career-best 13.450).
Junior Fletcher Braunton tied for third on the pommel horse (13.500) and earned a seventh-place score of 13.550 on the still rings, while sophomores Christian Kalustian and Ryan Girouard led the Falcons on the floor exercise by finishing fourth (13.900) and fifth (13.600), respectively.
The Falcons continue their road swing on Sunday, March 12, when they face No. 18 UIC in Chicago.
