COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The Air Force track and field team concluded its run at the 2017 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships this afternoon (March 11), as sophomore Kathryn Tomczak competed in the pole vault at the Gilliam Indoor Stadium in College Station, Texas.
Tomczak, just the second Air Force pole vaulter to ever earn a spot in the women's final at the NCAA DI Indoor Championships, was one of the final vaulters to attempt the opening bar of 13'3½". Unfortunately, she was unable to clear that height and exited the competition.
With the indoor season complete, Air Force will turn its attention to the outdoor portion of the 2017 campaign. The Falcons will split next weekend (March 17-18) for the Baldy Castillo Classic in Tempe, Ariz., and the Jerry Quiller Classic in Boulder.
