Mariah Forde Named To MW All-Freshman Team

Mariah Forde of Air Force women's basketball was named to the 2016-17 Mountain West All-Freshman Team, announced by the conference office today prior to the beginning of the 2017 Mountain West Basketball Championship, running March 6-10, at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nev.
Forde is Air Force's leading scorer, averaging 10.9 points per game. She is the leading freshman scorer in the conference. Forde, a native of Belen, NM, also leads all conference freshmen with 54 three's made and an 85.4 free throw shooting percentage. The guard is Air Force's all-time freshman record holder for most three's made in a season ranks second with 306 points scored in the Div. I era (nine points behind record). Her 85.4 free throw percentage currently ranks fifth in the Div. I era at Air Force as well.
Air Force opens play this evening at the championship. As the 11th-seed, the Falcons face sixth-seeded Utah State. Tip time is approximately 7 pm PT.
