The Falcons rank first in the Mountain West in turnover margin (3.97), are second in the league in turnovers forced per game (16.94) and fall at third in both steals per game (8.6) and offensive rebounding (11.9 rpg). Perry's 17.9 scoring average tops the Mountain West.
Last Time Out:
On March 10, Air Force Women's Basketball's historic run in the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Women's Basketball Championships came to a close, as the Falcons fell 56-42 to No. 3 Colorado State.
Senior Milahnie Perry led Air Force scoring with 14 points (6-18 FG). The All-MW selection capped an all-time three-game performance in postseason play scoring 82 total points in three games. In the wake of her collective performance leading Air Force in knocking off No. 8 Wyoming, No. 1 San Diego State and No. 5 Boise State, Perry was named an All-Tournament selection and tournament MVP. Senior Emily Adams was also named an All-Tournament honoree. She ended the evening with 12 points (4-15 FG, 4-4 FT) while adding six rebounds. Junior Alexis Cortez finished out Air Force's tournament bid with 11 points and nine rebounds.
No. 9 Air Force became the first-ever nine seed in the MW Tournament to make the title game. The Falcons ended their championship bid with their first-ever three-win postseason run and first-ever pair of All-Tournament nods in Perry and Adams.
The Iconic Cinderella Story:
Prior to making its run in the Mountain West tournament, Air Force was a combined 40-188 (.165) all-time against the field of opponents standing before them (Wyoming, San Diego State, Boise State, Colorado State).
Circling the Wagons:
Winning a trio of postseason games in the MW Championships, Air Force:
Earned its first-ever bid in the Mountain West Tournament.
Accomplished its first-ever three-win postseason. Competing in the WNIT, Air Force has a chance at building upon its record postseason.
As the nine-seed in the MW Championships, is now the lowest-ever seed to advance into the championship round. The seven-seed made it five times prior to 2025-26 and won once (2021 - Wyoming).
An All-Time Tournament Resume:
Scoring 92 points in the 2026 Mountain West Championships, All-Mountain West selection Milahnie Perry now holds the all-time Mountain West record for points scored by a single player in the conference tournament. Through the Falcons' championship run, Perry averaged 23.0 points per postseason contest.
A Rising Standard:
In addition to making its first Mountain West title game in 2026, Air Force now prepares for its third-ever WNIT appearance - the first of which took place on the heels of the Falcons' 2021-22 season. 2025-26 marks the first time the Falcons play beyond the conference tournament in back-to-back seasons, and the second time postseason basketball makes its way into Clune Arena in March.
Adams' Senior Surge:
In her last 17 career games, senior Emily Adams averaged 13.3 points, marking the most productive stretch of her Air Force career. Adams' 14 double-digit games in 2025-26 marks the most in a single season for the soon-to-be Falcon graduate.
On Feb. 4 in Air Force's win against Utah State, Adams finished with a 23-point, 12 rebound double-double. The seniors' marquis finish against the Aggies represented her first career double-double, first 20-point finish and also career highs both in rebounds (12) and field goals made in a single game (eight).
Adams proved key in Air Force's upset over No. 1 San Diego State in the Mountain West semifinals, scoring 20 points behind a 10-11 outing from the free throw line.
The Key Difference:
In eight of its last 12 wins this season, Air Force has led its respective opponents in rebounding.
2025-26 All-MW Honors:
Three Falcons were recognized on the 2025-26 All-Mountain West postseason awards list. Air Force's haul of postseason honors was highlighted by junior Jayda McNabb's selection as Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year – Air Force's first nod to the award since Cierra Winters earned the distinction at the close of the 2021-22 season and just the program's second-ever.
Jayda McNabb – MW Defensive Player of the Year | MW All-Defensive Selection
McNabb finished the Mountain West regular season ranked second in steals per game (2.20) and led Air Force in takeaways throughout the 2025-26 campaign. McNabb, who had multiple steals in 11 MW games and three or more in eight games this season, paced an Air Force regiment which closed its regular season leading the league in turnover margin (+3.97) and third in the conference in steals per game (8.93).
McNabb consistently proved elite on the offensive glass this season, leading the MW and ranking as high as second in the nation in offensive rebounding. McNabb ended the regular season at 10th nationally in offensive rebounds per game and is the first player in Mountain West history (men's or women's) to have at least 120 offensive boards and 60 steals in the same season. McNabb also closed out Mountain West play fifth in the league in blocked shots per game (0.87).
Sporting 674 career rebounds, McNabb now sits at 9th all time and fourth in Air Force's Division I history in the category.
Milahnie Perry – All-Mountain West Selection
Senior Falcon Milahnie Perry was named an All-Mountain West honoree, marking Air Force's third selection in the last four seasons and ninth All-MW award in program history. Perry becomes the second Falcon ever to secure multiple career All-MW honors after being previously named to the award in her sophomore season.
Ending conference play scoring a league-best 17.14 ppg, Perry posted double-digit scoring in 13 conference games this season, scoring 20 or more in 10 games total and in six of Air Force's last 10.
At home versus Colorado State, Perry posted 31 points against the Rams – the most scored by a Mountain West player this season. The senior went 8-8 from the free throw line in a 76-57 win at San Jose State (Jan. 10), earning the second-highest perfect finish from the line in Mountain West play this season. In the game, Perry additionally led Air Force to posting team-high marks in both categories across the Mountain West in 2025-26. In a 77-61 home win over the Spartans on Feb. 14, Perry went 14-16 from the free throw line, marking a single-game best in the conference in both made free throws and attempts this year.
Currently sitting at 1,832 career points, Perry stands as the highest career scorer in Air Force's history – A record obtained in her final regular season home game in Clune Arena against San Diego State on March 3.
Bhret Clay – MW All-Freshman Selection
Freshman Bhret Clay was named to the MW All-Freshman team, representing the third Falcon all-freshman picked in the last four seasons and seventh total since the inception of the award in 2013-14.
Playing in all 30 regular season games for the Falcons this year and earning a start in 14, Clay totaled .352 from three-point range. Clay shot .400 or better from three-point range in six Mountain West Conference games, in which Air Force won three. Additionally, the Falcon newcomer totaled 93 regular-season rebounds (3.1 rpg), earning five or more in three games.
She Sits at the Summit:
On her own Senior Day, Perry surpassed Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Michelle Johnson (1977-81) to become the highest career scoring player in Air Force history. Perry is also currently the Air Force record holder in career games played (125) and leads all Division I-era Falcons in field goals made (666 - 24 away from all-time) and field goal attempts (1,706).
*Represents Air Force Division I record.
In consecutive seasons, Perry scored the third and fourth most points ever by a Falcon in a single year – figures which rank first and second for a player in Air Force's Division I history (1996-current). Sitting at 572 points this season, Perry has surpassed Melissa Standley (1989-90) for most points in a season all time and now sports the three highest scoring seasons in Air Force's Division I history.
