USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – Highlighted by 13 home contests, the Air Force volleyball team announced its schedule for the upcoming 2017 season this afternoon. The Falcons' full 32-match schedule includes four tournaments and an 18-match Mountain West schedule.
The Falcons, under the direction of second-year head coach Marc Swindle, open the 2017 campaign against Gonzaga, Illinois and Montana State at the Bobcat Classic over the Aug. 25-26 weekend. Air Force will then travel to Annapolis, Md., for a match with Navy on Aug. 30, before facing Army West Point, The Citadel and Columbia at the Service Academy Challenge in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 1-2. The Falcons will host Liberty and Southern Utah for a pair of matches during their only home weekend of the non-conference season (Sept. 8-9), before wrapping up their tournament slate against Arkansas Pine Bluff, Northern Colorado and South Dakota on Sept. 15-16 at the UNC tournament in Greeley.
The 18-match conference schedule, which begins for the Falcons at home against Nevada on Sept. 24, will see Air Force play home-and-home series with Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Diego State, San Jose State, Nevada, Utah State and Wyoming, as well as a home match against New Mexico (Nov. 15) and a road contest at UNLV (Nov. 18).
