
Denise Ssozi Selected to USA Volleyball's WJNTT

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Rising Air Force sophomore Denise Ssozi was named to the U.S. Women's Junior National Training Team, USA Volleyball announced this afternoon (June 5). The 16-member WJNTT will determine the 12 players that will represent Team USA at the 2017 FIVB Women's U20 World Championships.
The WJNTT will train at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs on July 2-12.
Ssozi is one of four outside hitters on the training squad and will be joined by Leah Edmond (University of Kentucky), Thayer Hall (Upward Stars VBC) and Paige Hammons (University of Florida). The additional members of the Women's Junior National Training Team include Brionne Butler (University of Texas), Rachael Kramer (University of Florida), Regan Pittman (University of Minnesota), Elle Sandbothe (Kansas State University), Holly Carlton (University of North Carolina), Mikayla Shields (University of South Carolina), Ronika Stone (University of Oregon), Franny Arnautou (Yale University), Norene Iosia (University of Hawaii), MacKenzi Welsh (University of Michigan), Tiffany Clark (Naperville, Ill.) and Gabby Curry (University of Kentucky).
The WJNTT, which will be coached by Texas A&M head coach Laurie Corbelli, Top Select Volleyball Academy head trainer Blake Rawlins and USA Volleyball High Performance's Tom Pingel, includes nine players who were on the Women's U20 Pan American Cup gold-medal squad.
