(Sept. 23, 2017) #22/25 San Diego State defeated Air Force, 28-24, in Falcon Stadium in the Mountain West opener for both schools. The win marked the seventh straight for the Aztecs in the series. Air Force took a 9-0 lead behind a Ronald Cleveland 29 yard touchdown run and a Luke Strebel 45 yard field goal. The game was delayed for one hour and 28 minutes due to weather and when play resumed the Aztecs took the lead, 14-9, behind a pair of touchdown runs from Rashaad Penny. Arion Worthman scored for Air Force following a blocked punt to put Air Force back in front. The teams exchanged touchdowns as the Falcons took a 24-21 lead with 6:16 remaining. Penny sealed it with his third touchdown run with 5:39 left to make up the final margin. San Diego State finished with 367 total yards, including 187 rushing. Penny led the way with 128 yards and three TDs on 20 carries. Air Force finished with 253 total yards, including 220 rushing. Parker Wilson led the way with a career-best 99 yards on 20 carries.

(Dec. 5, 2015) San Diego State defeated Air Force, 27-24, Dec. 5 to win the 2015 Sports Authority Mountain West Football Championship in San Diego, Calif. Backup quarterback Christian Chapman hit 9-14 passes for 203 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 32 yards to lead the Aztecs. The two teams exchanged scores throughout the game, but San Diego State took its first lead of the game, 24-17, with a Rashaad Penny 28 yard touchdown run with 14:22 remaining in the game. The Falcons answered with Tim McVey's third touchdown run of the game to tie the score at 24-all with 11:49 left. The Aztecs took the lead for good, 27-24, with a Donny Hageman field goal with 5:10 left and held Air Force on its next two drives to win the game. The Aztecs finished with 436 total yards, including 233 rushing. Air Force had 340 total yards, including 305 rushing. Jacobi Owens led the Falcons with 156 yards on 17 carries while McVey added 48 yards and three touchdowns. Karson Roberts finished with 83 yards on 13 carries and hit 5-11 passes for 35 yards.

The Falcons used a dominate defense to hold Navy to just 178 total yards, including 129 rushing. The Midshipmen entered the game leading the nation in rushing with a 355.8 average. Navy scored first on a Garret Lewis touchdown run to take a 7-0 lead early in the second quarter. The Falcons answered with a Donald Hammond III to Ronald Cleveland 61-yard TD connection to tie the score.
