(Sept. 30, 2017) New Mexico defeated Air Force, 56-38, in Albuquerque, N.M., to record its third straight win in the series and fourth in the last five meetings. The game featured a one-hour, one-minute weather delay, the second straight week for Air Force to experience one in a game. The Lobos rolled up 509 total yards, including 363 rushing to race past the Falcons. Richard McQuarley led the rushing attack with 179 yards and five touchdowns on 11 carries. Air Force scored 21 points in the second quarter to take a 21-14 halftime lead. The Lobos answered with 21 third-quarter points to race out to a 35-24 lead on their way to the win. Air Force finished with 396 total yards, including 238 rushing and 158 passing. Arion Worthman rushed for 90 yards and a TD on 30 carries and hit 9-17 passes for 158 yards and a career-best three touchdowns. Tim McVey added 74 yards and a TD on 14 carries.
LAST TIME IN FALCON STADIUM
(Oct. 18, 2014) Air Force defeated New Mexico, 35-31, in Falcon Stadium to remain undefeated at home with a 4-0 mark. Shayne Davern had a career-best 85 yards on 16 carries to lead the Falcons. The Falcons finished the game with 428 total yards, with a balanced 269 rushing and 159 passing. New Mexico finished with 390 total yards, including 367 rushing. Jhurell Pressley led the way with 148 yards rushing and two touchdowns. The teams exchanged leads in the first half and ended tied at 21-21 at halftime. New Mexico took a 28-21 lead midway through the third quarter, but Air Force answered with a TD run to tie it and a Kale Pearson to Jalen Robinette 50-yard touchdown pass to take a 35-28 lead. New Mexico added a fourth-quarter field goal to make up the final margin. The Falcons sealed the game by holding New Mexico on a fourth down deep in its own territory.
