Falcons Head Out on the Road for Two Matches

Air Force will play Nevada (Nov. 8) and San Jose State (Nov. 10) on the road this week.
The Air Force volleyball team begins to wind down the 2018 campaign this weekend, as it heads out for its final two-match road swing of the season. The Falcons will travel to Nevada for a 6:30 p.m. (PT) match on Thursday, Nov. 8, before heading to San Jose State for a 2:00 p.m. (PT) contest on Saturday, Nov. 10.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Nevada (8-17, 1-13) and San Jose State (12-11, 7-7) will face each other in Reno on Tuesday before hosting the Falcons later in the week. The Wolfpack is coming off of a 0-2 weekend at home against UNLV (2-3) and New Mexico (1-3), while the Spartans split their homestand with those two schools, defeating the Lobos in five and falling to the Rebels in four. Nevada is ranked second in the conference in team digs (15.38), while Mo Maluotoga (3.87, fifth) and Kayla Afoa (3.10, eighth) are both ranked among the league's top-10 of that individual category. San Jose State's Luisa Andrade is ranked second in the conference in aces (0.53) and digs (4.68), while the Spartans are ranked second in team aces (1.75) and fourth in kills (12.85).
LAST TIME OUT
After splitting a pair of five-set thrillers at the Academy in mid-October, Air Force is 1-1 against this week's opponents. The Falcons dropped a 21-25, 24-26, 25-21, 25-18, 12-15 decision to San Jose State on Oct. 11, before holding on to a 26-24, 25-16, 19-25, 19-25, 15-8 victory over Nevada two days later.
