USAF Academy, Colo. - Assistant women's basketball coach and recruiting coordinator, Stacy McIntyre, was recently inducted into the 11th Annual Scott County Athletics Hall of Fame class. McIntyre is a celebrated two-sport athlete from Georgetown, Kentucky's Scott Count High School, where she played from 1984-1988.
While at Scott County High, McIntyre recorded over 1,700 points, was named all-district and all-region each season, all-state her senior season. Not only did she lead Cardinals in scoring, she also consistently earned highs in rebound and assist numbers. McIntyre was as exceptional in softball as she was in basketball, earning two MVP selections for the softball team.
Beyond high school, McIntyre continued to soar as an athlete. She enjoyed a standout career at the University of Kentucky and finished her career ninth all-time in scoring (1,215) and sixth in steals (189). A two-time captain, she led the team in scoring twice and was named to the All-SEC Second Team. As academically sound as she is talented in hoops, she was an All-Academic SEC selection in 1992. McIntyre also led the Wildcats to the NCAA Tournament in 1991, an achievement that yielded her a spot on the Kentucky All-Star Team.
Since transitioning from player to coach, she has been a part of several outstanding staffs prior to the Academy, to include the University of Nevada, the University of Southern California, and Yale. McIntyre was inducted with fellow classmate Tony Wise.
