
Women's Swimming Defeats Seattle U, 136-68

The Falcons won eight of 11 events on the day
SEATTLE, Wash. – The Air Force Academy women's swimming team completed the weekend sweep of Seattle University with a solid 136-68 dual win Saturday afternoon, Jan. 12, at the Redhawk Center. The Falcons (8-6) won eight of the 11 events on the day.
Seven of the eight event wins came from individuals, with six of seven of those wins came from different swimmers. Leading it off, senior Elisabeth Brechbuhl won the 1650 freestyle, clocking in with a 17:58.86. Air Force went 1-2-3 in that event, one of three podium sweeps on the afternoon.
Junior Esther Min was the lone two-time individual winner, as she captured gold in the 50 free sprint, as well as the 200 fly. After that, fellow junior Jayden Glover was the top finisher in the 200 IM with a 2:12.24.
The second 1-2-3 finish came in the 500 free, as freshman Emily Bardak took first with a 5:16.91. The third was in the 200 breast, with junior Heidi Schellin taking the top spot with a 2:24.14. The final individual win came courtesy of sophomore Kylie Stronko in the 200 back, as she clocked in with a 2:07.05.
Air Force's final event win was in the opening swim of the day, the 400 medley relay. The Falcons touched in first place with a 4:00.11.
The women's swimmers will be back in action next Saturday, Jan. 19, as they head up north to take on conference rival Colorado State in dual action. Start time from Ft. Collins is set for 12 p.m. MT.
