Air Force swept Army earlier this season in West Point
This Week: Air Force (11-8-1, 9-5-0 AHC) hosts a two-game conference series with the Army West Point Black Knights (8-11-1, 7-6-1 AHC), Friday-Saturday, Jan. 11-12, at the Cadet Ice Arena. Friday's faceoff is at 7:05 pm MT while Saturday's game will start at 5:05 pm MT. Fans are encouraged to wear blue for both games as part of the weekend Blue Out.

Scouting the Black Knights: Army is 8-11-1 overall and tied for fourth in the AHC with 15 points, three points behind Air Force. Last weekend, Army lost a non-conference road game to Rensselaer, 2-1 in overtime. The Black Knights have lost four straight (RPI, Brown, Dartmouth and Canisius). Army split with Canisius in their last league series, Nov. 30-Dec. 1. Zach Evancho and Dalton MacFee are tied for the team lead with 18 points. Sophomore goalie Jared Dempsey has started the last nine games and has a 3.27 GAA and a .890 saves percentage.
Series vs. Army: Air Force leads the all-time series vs. Army, 45-24-6. Air Force swept Army earlier this season by identical 4-2 scores in West Point, Nov. 2-3. Air Force has won four of the last five against the Black Knights, including winning a best-of-three quarterfinal series last season at West Point. The teams played last season in Colorado and Army swept Air Force, 3-2 and 2-0. In Atlantic Hockey games (since 2006-07), Air Force leads the series, 22-9-4 (including playoffs). Since becoming the Falcons' coach in 1997, Serratore is 34-15-5 (68 percent) vs. the Black Knights.

Air Force killed 36 straight opponent power plays from Nov. 9 against Bentley until Dec. 30 against Bemidji State. BSU scored a PPG on Dec. 30. The Falcons have now killed 51 of the last 52.
Special Teams -- Part 2: The Falcons rank second in the league, 10th in the nation, in power play at 23.8. The Falcons have scored a power play goal in seven of the last eight games. Air Force is 7-1 when winning the battle of special teams. The Falcons are also 9-3-1 when scoring a power-play goal. Air Force scored a season high four power play goals (4-for-5) against St. Lawrence. Air Force also scored a PPG against Western Michigan.
