
Falcons Drop OT Match to Nevada, 2-1

Air Force scored in the final minute before falling in the extra stanza
The Falcons kept pace with Nevada on offense, as they were only out-shot by one, 17-16, while AF got two more shots on goal, 9-7. Air Force also got two more corner kicks, 5-3.
Air Force's goal was scored by junior Emma Nelson, her third of the season. It was assisted by freshman Lexi Romero, her fourth assist, and team-leading 24th point of the season. In net, junior Danielle Katz made five saves while facing the 16 shots.
Nevada's regulation goal was scored in the first half on a PK in the 32nd minute. Air Force was unable to get the equalizer, despite two shots on net, to keep it 1-0 at the half.
In the second half, AF upped the pressure, out-shooting Nevada, 9-6. It paid off in the final minute of play on Nelson's goal, sending the game to OT. There, it looked as if the match was headed to a second OT, but Nevada got the game winner at the 99:28 mark to get the win.
The Falcons return home next weekend, Friday, Oct. 18, when they host San Diego State. Kickoff against the Aztecs is set for 6 p.m. MT.
