AF will head to Wyoming, Friday, and hosts CSU and NAU, Saturday
USAFA, Colo. – The Air Force Academy women's swimming and diving team is back in action this weekend for a trio of duals, beginning with Mountain West Conference rival Wyoming, Friday, Oct. 18, in Laramie, followed by the regular season home opener with fellow MW rival Colorado State, as well as Northern Arizona, Saturday, Oct. 19.
Start time against the Cowgirls at Laramie High School is set for 3 p.m. for the divers and 4 p.m. for the swimmers. The meet will run alongside the men, who are facing the Cowboys. Meanwhile back home at Cadet Natatorium, action will begin at 1:30 p.m and will be streamed live on YouTube.
The Falcons are coming off a fifth place finish at the annual Rice Invitational in Houston, Oct. 11-12. Highlighting the weekend were freshman Sefilina Maile and junior Kylie Stronko. Maile placed second in the 100 free out of 40 competitors, and third in the 50 free. Meanwhile, Stronko placed third in the 200 back out of 30 and fifth in the 100 back.
Last season against Wyoming and Colorado State, Air Force was felled by both opponents in dual action. Against the Lumberjacks of NAU, this will be AF's first time facing them in a dual since the 2017-18 season when they dropped a dual down in Flagstaff.
Following this three dual weekend, Air Force will compete at home once again, as they will face Colorado Mesa and the Colorado School of Mines in a tri-meet, Friday, Nov. 1. Action inside the Cadet Natatorium is set to begin at 5 p.m. MT.
