On the final day, AF had three more top-ten all-time program times.
HOUSTON, Texas – The Air Force Academy women's swimming and diving wrapped up action at the Phill Hansel Invitational, Saturday evening, Nov. 23, on the campus of the University of Houston. On the final day, AF had three more top-ten all-time program times.
Starting with the 100 free, freshman Sefilina Maile continued to make her mark on the record book early in her career, as she clocked in with a 50.71 to place 10th overall, and set the fifth-fastest time in program history.
In the 200 back, junior Kylie Stronko had AF's top finish of the day, clocking in seventh with a 2:00.55. Sophomore Alexandra Armbruster timed in with a 2:03.13 to set the eighth best time in program history. Then in the breaststroke, senior Heidi Schellin placed ninth with a 2:14.84. Not too far behind was freshman Kimmy Woolfenden, who took 12th with a 2:16.92, the sixth-fastest time in program history.
The final two individual swimming events were the 1650 free, as freshman Gina Jenkins placed 20th, while in the 200 fly, sophomore Dia Gawronski placed 27th.
On the diving board AF had a successful time on the platform, as senior Kayla Wofford took fourth, sophomore Krystal Irwin placed seventh, and freshman Gabby Peltier took 10th. Finally, the lone relay of the day was the 400 free, and AF placed ninth there with a new season-best time.
As a team, AF compiled 568 points to finish in eighth place overall. They finished ahead of Florida Gulf Coast and Northern Colorado.
