
Falcons Split for Four Road Meets

Air Force will compete in Colorado, Iowa, Texas and Washington over the Feb. 8-9 weekend.
The Air Force track and field team splits up into four groups for a busy stretch of competition over the Feb. 8-9 weekend. A portion of the squad will travel to Lubbock, Texas, for the Texas Tech Shootout, while the distance runners will travel to Seattle for the Husky Classic and Ames, Iowa, for the Iowa State Classic. The remainder of the team will stay in Colorado Springs for the Mountain Lion Open.
MEET INFORMATION: TEXAS TECH SHOOTOUT
The Texas Tech Shootout, which begins 4:00 p.m. (CT) on Friday and 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, will be held at the Sports Performance Center. Tickets are $8 for adults ($5 for children) and can be purchased at the facility's North entrance. The Red Raiders' clear bag policy will be in effect. Live results will be available via PTTiming.com, while TexasTechTV will stream the meet through its subscription service (direct links to both are available on the Falcons' schedule).

The Shootout is scheduled to include teams from Abilene Christian, Air Force, Arizona, BYU, Incarnate Word, Kansas State, New Mexico State, Oklahoma State, Penn, Stephen F Austin, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, Texas Tech, UTA and Wyoming. The collegiate field includes six nationally-ranked teams, including the top-ranked Texas Tech men's squad and the seventh-ranked Texas women's team. The other nationally-listed teams include the 20th-ranked women from Texas Tech, both BYU squads (13th-ranked men, 23rd-ranked women) and the 18th-ranked men's team from Kansas State.

The annual Husky Classic, featuring numerous nationally-ranked teams and five Falcons, will be held at Dempsey Indoor and begin at 2:00 p.m. (PT) on Friday, Feb. 8. Tickets are $10 for all spectators aged 10-65 (free for others). Live results will be available via GoHuskies.com and the meet will be streamed through FloTrack's subscription service. Jaci Smith will compete in the 3000-meter run, while Jacob Bilvado, Lindsey Blanks, Teri Brady and Maria Mettler will run in their respective 5000-meter events.

The Mountain Lion Open, hosted by Colorado Running Company and free to the public, will be held at the new Mountain Lion Fieldhouse on the campus of UCCS.
