Falcons place fourth at Gene Miranda Falcon Invite

Colorado won the 18-team tournament at 10-under-par
U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force golf team tied its best finish in the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational since 2013, by placing fourth at the 51st annual event on Sunday, Sept. 8, at the Eisenhower Blue Course. Colorado won the 18-team tournament with an 854 (-10).
Northern Colorado was second (859, -5), UC Davis was third (861, -3) and Air Force was fourth (862, -2). The 862 (-2) tied last season's place and score and is the best since the Falcons won the tournament with an 849 in 2013.
Southern Utah's Jake Vincent won the individual title in a playoff. Vincent was tied with Northern Colorado's Jack Castiglia and Coby Welch at 209 (-7) after 54 holes. With pars at both No. 10 and No. 18, Vincent won the individual title.
Falcon senior Josh Wu led the Falcons with a 211 (-5) and placed fifth among all players. Sophomore Luke Trujillo tied for 31st overall at 218, followed by junior Kyle Spencer (220). Senior Anson Kuznik and sophomore Jonathan Farmer came in at 222.
Senior Joseph Crisostomo, playing as an individual, tied for 20th at even par 216. Sophomore Colter Baca and freshman Isaac Layne, also playing as individuals, came in at 220 (+4).
The Falcons return to the links on Sept. 16-17 at the annual CSU Ram Masters in Fort Collins, Colo.
