(Sept. 20, 2019) Boise State defeated Air Force, 30-19, Sept. 20 in Boise. The teams exchanged scores through three quarters, capped by a Hank Bachmeier to John Bates 28 yard scoring strike to give the Broncos a 17-13 lead headed into the fourth quarter. The Falcons opened the scoring with a Donald Hammond III touchdown run to take a 7-0 lead in the second quarter. Jake Koehnke hit his first of two field goals to tie the game at 10-10 at the half. Robert Mahone scored a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns to make it 30-13. His first was set-up by a fourth-and-10 conversion and the second when Boise State stopped Air Force on fourth-and-one. The Falcons scored on a Hammond to Geraud Sanders 31 yard scoring toss, but a blocked PAT made up the final margin. The teams each gained 355 total yards. Air Force rushed for 242 yards, led by Taven Birdow's 67 yards. Hammond added a season-best 62. Jeremy Fejedelem led the defense with nine tackles. Lakota Wills added eight tackles and a career-best three tackles for loss.

Brett Rypien hit 20-of-34 passes for 399 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Broncos. Alex Mattison added 136 yards rushing and a touchdown on 22 carries as Boise State rolled up 530 total yards. The teams went back and forth in the first half, which ended tied at 28-all. Boise State scored 10 straight points in the third quarter before Kadin Remsberg scored on a five-yard catch to cut the lead to 41-38 with 5:24 to play. Rypien sealed it with a 61-yard touchdown pass with 3:21 left to make up the final margin. Air Force finished with 443 total yards, including 201 rushing and 242 passing. Isaiah Sanders led the way rushing for 97 yards and a touchdown rushing on 28 carries and hitting 10-of-15 passes for 210 yards and two scores. Jeremy Fejedelem led the defense with 13 tackles.

The Falcons got on the board when Haaziq Daniels hit Kyle Patterson for a 34-yard touchdown strike, but the Falcons missed the two-point conversion to trail 14-6. SJSU iced it with a 30-yard field goal from Matt Mercurio with 5:18 left to make up the final margin. San Jose State had 294 total yards, including 226 passing.
