Air Force had defensive stops to open the close the game. After holding Army on a four-and-goal on the one on its first drive, the Falcons took a 3-0 lead in the second quarter on a Jake Koehnke 20 yard field goal. Army answered with a touchdown run late in the second quarter by Jabari Laws, but missed the extra point to take a 6-3 halftime lead. Timothy Jackson put the Falcons in front with a one yard touchdown run to make it 10-6. Army scored on its next play on an 87 yard pass from Laws to make it 13-10. Joshua Stoner scored on a five yard run with 13:08 to play to make it 17-13. The Falcons then held Army on a fourth down play inside the 10 with 33 second left. Jackson led the Falcons with a career-best 155 yards rushing and a score. The Falcons had 344 total yards, including 328 rushing. Kyle Johnson led the defense with a season-high 11 tackles. Jordan Jackson added nine and a sack. The defense held Army to 343 total yards.

The Black Knights opened the game with a 21-play, 75-yard drive that took 12:55 off the clock to take a 7-0 lead. The Falcons closed the third quarter with a scoring drive to cut the lead to 14-6. Following an Army field goal, the Falcons scored on a six-yard touchdown and a two-point conversion run cut the lead to 17-14. Air Force got the ball back following an Army punt, but were stopped on fourth down near midfield. Army ran out the clock to end the game. The Black Knights had 286 total yards, including 242 rushing. Air Force had 322 total yards, including 197 passing.

The Falcons answered with an 11-play, 75-yard scoring drive on their way to 35 unanswered points. Kadin Remsberg capped the opening drive with a 21-yard touchdown run. Haaziq Daniels hit Ben Peterson with a 49-yard touchdown pass and added a 37-yard TD run to give the Falcons a 21-7 halftime lead. Matthew Murla and Brad Roberts added second half touchdown runs to make up the final margin. Air Force had 461 total yards, including 334 rushing. Remsberg led the rushing attack with 107 yards, while Roberts added 98. Daniels chipped in with 47 and hit 7-9 passes for a career-best 127 yards. The defense held Utah State to 232 total yards, including 109 rushing. The defense held the Aggies to just 167 total yards after the opening drive and to just 22 rushing yards in the second half.
