Air Force Falls To Wyoming On Senior Day

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's basketball fell to Wyoming, 78-72, in Mountain West action Saturday afternoon at Clune Arena. Lavelle Scottie led the Falcons with 17 points on senior day.
Wyoming closed the game on a 12-0 run to rally to the win. Air Force (10-18, 4-12) went scoreless over the two minutes of the game and failed to hold a six point lead.
Greg Milton led Wyoming (7-21, 2-14 MW) with 28 points. Hunter Maldonado, who hit the go-ahead three late, added 19 points.
Four Falcons reached double figures in scoring. In addition to his 17 points, Scottie added seven rebounds. Fellow senior Ryan Swan added 14 points and game-high's of nine rebounds and three assists. Caleb Morris scored 13 points, to go with four rebounds. AJ Walker scored all 11 of his points in the second half.
The game was back-and-forth affair, featuring 19 lead changes. It was also a defensive battle in the first-half, as Wyoming led 31-30 at the half. Air Force was down by as many as 10 points in the opening half, before rallying back to cut the deficit to one.
Air Force held the lead for much of the second half, going up by six points several times. The game seemed in hand, until the late rally by the Cowboys.
Air Force shot 46.4 percent from the field, 21.4 percent from three and 63 percent from the line. The Falcons had an off night from deep, making just three three-point baskets.
Prior to the game, Air Force honored its senior class. LeSean Brown, Morris, Scottie, Swan and Sid Tomes comprise the senior class of 2020.
Air Force returns to action Wednesday, Feb. 26, in its home-finale, hosting New Mexico. The game tips at 7 pm MT and will be broadcast by ESPN3.
