Gavin named AHA Rookie of the Week

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force freshman Will Gavin was named the Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week.

Gavin led all AHA rookies with five points in three games last week. The forward from Durham, Conn., had a goal against Sacred Heart and then had an assist in game one at Mercyhurst. In game two at Mercyhurst, he had a career-best three points. Gavin scored the first goal of the game and then assisted on the next two.

On the season, Gavin leads the team with seven points (3-4-7) in nine games. After scoring a goal in his first career shift, he has now scored a point in four straight games.

It is the first Atlantic Hockey honor for Gavin and the first by a Falcon this season.
