
Chris Hedden named AHCA All-American

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force senior Chris Hedden was named to the CCM/AHCA (American Hockey Coaches Association) East All-America Second Team, announced during Friday Night (April 10) at the Frozen Four in Las Vegas, Nev.
The Atlantic Hockey America Defenseman of the Year and a first-team all-AHA selection, Hedden is the fifth Falcon ever to earn All-America honors. He is the first Falcon to earn the honor since defenseman Tim Kirby was a second-team East AHCA All-American in 2012.
In all games this season, Hedden led the team with 12 goals and 34 points. Hedden's 12 goals tied for the second-most in the nation for a defenseman and his 34 points tied for third in the nation among all blueliners. The native of Kalamazoo, Mich., finished the season with a team-high 63 blocked shots this season.
Hedden was a five-time AHA Defenseman of the Week this season and was the AHA and HCA (national) Defenseman of the Month for November. He was also on the ballot for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award. Hedden finished his career with 108 points (34-74-108) in 149 games. He is the first Falcon defenseman to score 100 or more career points since Beau Bilek in 1991-95.
Air Force closed out the regular season with an 18-15-4 record, the first winning season since 2018-19. The 18 wins tie (2023-24) as the most since 2017-18.
