1/20/2021 1:54:00 PM | Men's Lacrosse
USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force has announced the lacrosse schedule for the 2021 campaign. The Falcons are slated for an exhibition, 12 regular season games and six Southern Conference meetings. Air Force will see its first action of the year in the annual scrimmage at Notre Dame, February 6.
Bill Wilson's Falcons will meet with a quartet of the NCAA's perennial powerhouses over the spring, beginning with Denver (Feb. 13), Duke (Feb. 27), 2019 NCAA national champions Virginia (Mar. 6) and North Carolina (Mar. 20).
Air Force is slated to host five opponents on the season beginning with a pair of non-conference games against Utah (Feb. 20) and Robert Morris (Mar. 13), and three league opponents between April 3-24. SoCon action opens at Bellarmine on March 27 and will conclude on May 1 at Richmond.
The SoCon tournament will be hosted by Richmond, May 6-8, at Robins Stadium, Richmond, Va.
"We could not be more excited to begin the 2021 season and finally face-off against another color jersey," exclaimed head coach Bill Wilson. "Our men have stayed committed emotionally and physically despite the 2020 season coming to a halt. We are proud of our men for their attention to detail and discipline they have shown through the fall and now into the spring season."
"It will take great effort and even more focus for this spring to be a success," Wilson continued. "I have every confidence that our athletes, staff and support personnel at USAFA are committed to seeing our varsity programs execute successful seasons through the winter and spring. The New Year brings a challenging schedule with five home games that should excite our Colorado lacrosse family. Many thanks go out to all of the administrators, support staff, and coaches around the nation who are working hard to make this season move forward successfully."
