
Air Force Soars Past Queens, 17-7

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Falcon lacrosse thundered past Queens, 17-7, in ASUN Conference action, Saturday afternoon and Queens Sports Complex. Air Force, now on a two-game win streak in the league, improves to 4-7 (3-1).
The Falcons' 10-goal differential marked a season high with the three other wins being decided by just one goal. Seven Air Force players accounted for the scoring led by Christian Schweiger's career-best five goals with an assist. C4C Schweiger, the second leading goal scorer (22) on the team, has put up points in every game this season and has four hat tricks to his credit.
Senior teammate and goals leader Caelan Driggs put up four goals on six shots, scoring his sixth hat trick of the season. Driggs has 21 goals in the last four games, averaging 4.24 goals per game in ASUN Conference play. Driggs, with 126 career goals, is now just one goal shy of tying the all-time goals leader, Mike Crampton (2011-14).
Senior midfielder Cole Rassas had a day, posting a career-high five points on three helps and a pair of goals, upping his season totals to 12 goals and 12 assists. Rassas leads all Falcons in career assists (34).
Falcons Ben Heidt (2g), Luke Vrsansky (1g), Tyler Smart (1g), Jake Mason (1g, 1a), and Alex Rismani (1g) rounded out the AF scoring effort. Senior Ryan Stadelmaier dished a pair of assists to Driggs and Rismani.
Air Force was dominant at center X, winning 18 faceoffs in 27 attempts. Rogan Kane won 14-20 and teammate Michael Fireri went 4-7. Kane led the team with six ground balls to his credit.
Junior SSDM Charlie Pyfer led the defense with three caused turnovers and a season-high six ground balls, leading the effort that held Queens to just 10 shots through three quarters of play. Senior leaders Matt Rosato and Connor Albertson tallied two CTOs each and Hee-Cheol Shin was credited with one CTO and a pair of ground balls. AF's 32 ground balls marked a season-high for the team.
In his first start of the season, senior GK Nolan Parlette made a pair of saves, a caused turnover and two groundballs to help secure the win.
Next up, the Falcons return to USAFA to host Mercer for home finale and Senior Day, April 18. Action is slated for noon MT. The Falcons will honor 12 players and a pair of managers prior to the game.
