USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force women's tennis released its 2021 Spring Schedule, announced today by head coach Kim Gidley. The season begins Jan. 30 and concludes April 25. The Falcons are slated to play 11 non-conference matches and 10 Mountain West matches, including home contests against Army West Point, Denver and Colorado.
"Cadets by nature are competitive, so to sit idle for nearly an entire year has been a different challenge this group has had to overcome," Gidley said. "This team has worked really hard the past several months and they are meshing as a team extremely well. It will be fun to see the team compete and leave everything on the court when the matches start. It's gonna be fun!"
The Falcons open the season Jan. 30 hosting Metro State, followed by additional home matches against Denver on Feb. 5 and CSU-Pueblo on Feb. 10. The following week, Air Force heads to Odessa, Texas, for duals against Texas-Permian Basin and Southwest University on Feb. 19 and Western New Mexico on Feb. 20. The month is capped off with a home dual on Feb. 26 against Colorado.
Air Force opens March by hosting Army on March 6. The Falcons then close out its non-conference slate with three duals in San Antonio against St. Mary's (Texas) on March 12, Trinity (Texas) on March 13 and Texas A&M-Kingsville on March 14.
Air Force opens Mountain West play with neutral-site duals in Albuquerque, NM against Boise State on March 27 and Utah State on March 28.
The Falcons have conference home duals against Wyoming on April 2, Colorado State April 3, New Mexico April 16 and San Jose State on April 18. The Falcons have conference road matches at UNLV April 10, San Diego State April 11, Nevada April 24 and Fresno State April 25 (in Reno).
With no conference championship tournament this season, the regular season champion will represent the MW at the 2021 NCAAs.
