Air Force Downed By Denver, 6-1

Air Force men's tennis (1-1) dropped a 6-1 contest to Denver Friday night in Denver. A doubles win over a nationally ranked duo highlighted play for the Falcons.

The Falcons swept doubles play with wins in all three matchups. Jamie Bautista and Paul Hendrix combined to defeat No. 42 Matt Summers/James Davis 6-4. Jordan Azuma and Robert Baylon defeated Mattie Ros/Peter Sallay 7-6 (0) and Jonathan Mascagni and Justin Waldman defeated Ignacio Crespo/Nicholas Huerro Cuesta 7-6 (6).

Denver went 8-0 in singles play to rally to the win. A

At No. 1 singles, Hendrix fell to Ros 6-3, 6-4. At No. 2, Waldman fell to Davis 6-4, 2-6, 6-1. At No. 3, Mascagni lost to Summers 4-6, 6-2, 6-0. Baylon fell at No. 4 to Sallay 3-6, 6-2, 6-2. Azuma fell at No. 5 to Daniel Krulig 6-7 (6), 6-4, 6-1 and Morgan Ihrig fell at No. 6 to Huerro Cuesta 6-4, 6-0.

Air Force returns to action Feb. 5 at Omaha.
