STORYLINES
• The Air Force football team is honoring the B-52 Stratofortress with the 2021 edition of the Air Power Legacy Series uniform. The Falcons debuted the uniform for the Navy game earlier this season on the 20-year anniversary of 9-11. The team is wearing them this week to honor the nation's veterans. LAST MEETING
(Nov. 16, 2019) Air Force defeated Colorado State, 38-21, to win the Ram-Falcon Trophy. The Falcons spotted Colorado State 14 points after the Rams scored on its opening drive and returned a fumble for a score to go up 14-0 with 3:32 remaining in the first quarter. The Falcons scored on a Donald Hammond III to Ben Waters touchdown pass and added a Jake Koehnke field goal to cut it to 14-10 at the half. The second half was all-Falcons. Geraud Sanders gave Air Force the lead for good on a 50 yard touchdown pass from Hammond and Waters added a second touchdown reception to put the Falcons in front 24-14. Colorado State cut the lead to 24-21 with a Patrick O'Brien to Dante Wright touchdown pass with 6:36 left. Hammond scored on a one-yard run to make it 31-21 with 2:32 remaining and Zane Lewis recorded a 99-yard interception return for a score to make up the final margin. Hammond finished with 126 yards passing and three touchdowns. Kadin Remsberg led the rushing attack with 17 carries for 101 yards. The Falcons finished for 353 total yards, including 227 rushing. Colorado State finished with 386 total yards. O'Brien hit 28-43 passes for 347 yards and two scores to lead the Rams.
THE RAM-FALCON TROPHY
Air Force and Colorado State compete each year for the Ram-Falcon Trophy. The 2021 season marks the 41st year of the trophy competition with Air Force holding a 25-15 lead. The 2020 edition was scheduled for Thanksgiving day, but was canceled due to COVID. The Ram-Falcon Trophy was carved by Bill Wrage in 1980 when Air Force joined Colorado State in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Colorado State was also AFA's inaugural WAC conference matchup that season. It was initiated by the Colorado State ROTC.

Colorado State is playing in its first full season under Steve Addazio, who was named the program's 23rd head coach on Dec. 12, 2019 ... Colorado State returns all but one starter from the 2020 squad and has a roster which includes 33 senior, fifth-year or beyond players ... Tight end Trey McBride, fresh off a 2020 All-American season, appears on Todd McShay's Big Board as the top tight end and No. 27 overall prospect for the 2022 NFL Draft ... He leads the team in receiving with 74 catches for 838 yards ... Senior Ryan Stonehouse, a two-time All-American (2018, 2020), is the NCAA's all-time career leader in punt average with a 47.6 mark ...
