Track & Field Opens 2021-22 Season on Friday

Air Force's annual Holiday Open will begin at 3:00 p.m. (MT) on Friday, Dec. 4.
The Air Force track and field team kicks off the 2021-22 season this Friday (Dec. 3), when it hosts its annual Air Force Holiday Open at the Cadet Field House.
MEET INFORMATION
The Air Force Holiday Open, which will kick off a busy indoor season at the Cadet Field House, is slated to begin on the field at 3:00 p.m. (a complete schedule of events is listed below). Live results will be available via GoAirForceFalcons.com (a direct link is available on the team's schedule page and will update once the first results are entered), while in-meet updates and highlights will be posted on the team's official Twitter and Instagram accounts (@af_tfxc).
WELCOME BACK
Fans are invited back to Air Force Track and Field meets, but current Defense Department and Air Force Academy rules require all individuals to wear a mask inside Academy facilities. All individuals who have not been fully vaccinated must wear masks outside on military installations.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
3:00 p.m.: Women's Weight Throw, followed by Men's Weight Throw, Women's Shot Put, Men's Shot Put; 3:00 p.m.: Men's Pole Vault, followed by Women's Pole Vault; 4:00 p.m.: Women's Long Jump, followed by Women's Triple Jump; 4:00 p.m.: Men's Long Jump, followed by Men's Triple Jump; 4:00 p.m.: Women's High Jump, followed by Men's High Jump; 5:00 p.m.: Mile Run, followed by 60-Meter Hurdles, 60-Meter Dash, 600-Meter Dash, 300-Meter Dash, Mile Relay (women will compete first in all running event)

Two Falcons – Sam Gilman, Brid O'Connell – will travel to Boston to kick off their indoor season at the Sharon Danville-Colyear Season Opener on Saturday, Dec. 4. The meet will be streamed live on FloTrack.
HOME SWEET HOME
Eight Falcons hail from the state of Colorado, including three from the Colorado Springs/Monument area – Braeden Holcombe, Aaliyah Ricketts and Erika Willis. The squad's Centennial State roster also includes individuals from Aurora (Jackson Connelly), Brighton (Cameron Harris), Littleton (Connor Ohlson), Parker (Ryan Johnson) and Sterling (Jace Pittman).
LOOK WHO'S BACK
Air Force's roster includes and one Academy Record holder (Katie Thompson: long jump), one Mountain West Indoor champion (Wyatt Murphy: 2020 heptathlon), and four indoor all-conference performers (Cameron Harris: 60-meter hurdles; Jake Hall: high jump; Ethan Gardner: pole vault; Murphy: heptathlon).
WE'LL BE SEEING YOU
The Air Force Holiday Open is the first of several home meets on the Falcons' schedule for the indoor season. In addition to the December meet, the team will host the Air Force Invitational on Jan. 20-22, the Invitational at the Peak on Feb. 4, and the Air Force Collegiate Open on Feb. 18.
ON THE SIDELINES
Ralph Lindeman, a 17-time conference coach of the year and six-time regional coach of the year, returners for his 33rd season as the head coach of the Air Force track and field team. Lindeman, who oversees the Falcons' multi-event athletes, is joined on the sidelines by associate head coach Scott Steffan (pole vault) and assistant coaches Ryan Cole (middle distance/distance), Dave Hightower (sprints/relays), Dustin Imdieke (hurdles/horizontal jumps) and Dana Lyon (throws). The Falcons' coaching staff also includes volunteer coaches Bob Graf (high jump) and Mark Stanforth (middle distance/distance).
COMING UP
The Falcons return to action on Jan. 14-15, when they travel to Boulder, Colo., for the Potts Indoor Invitational.
