
Trujillo leads Falcons on first day in Palm Desert

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Junior Luke Trujillo led the Air Force golf team on the first day of the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif. Trujillo, a Colorado Springs native, was the top Falcon with a 76 (+4) as Air Force sits in 19th place. On the opening day, Air Force shot a 309 (+21) in a tournament that features several of the nation's top teams.
Kansas leads the field after an opening round 274 (-14). Georgia Tech is in second place (-12) while Charlotte is third (-11), Oregon is fourth (-10) and UCLA is fifth (-3).
Air Force sophomore Isaac Layne came in at 77 while senior Kyle Spencer and freshman Aaron Kuznik each shot 78 and junior Colter Baca shot 81.
The second-round of the tournament begins at 7 am PT on Saturday, Feb. 19, in Palm Desert, Calif. The final round is Sunday, Feb. 20.
