Sweeping the Black Knights
- Air Force had a successful weekend at the Freedom Classic in Kinston, N.C. as they swept Service Academy rival Army West Point in a three-game series, March 5-7.
- The Falcons out-scored Army 21-6, including a 12-1 drubbing in game two
- Game three featured a 5-4 walk off win after a single from freshman Sam Kulasingam. It was the first walk off win for AF since May of 2019.
Fly Falcons Fly
In each season under Head Coach Mike Kazlausky, the team has been aggressive on the base paths. The last three seasons in particular have been the most aggressive, as AF has ranked nationally in stolen bases, including second in 2020 (46), 56th in 2019 (78), and 65th in 2018 (74).
Already this season, AF has 17 swipes, which ranks 29th in the nation.
Twice is Nice
In the 12-1 win over Army, the Falcons knocked out six doubles, including three off the bat of junior Cayden Zimmerman. It was the first three-double game for a Falcon batter since 2018.
The Do It All Kid
Freshman Paul Skenes has been extremely versatile for the Falcons this season, as he has made starts at catcher (4), first base (2), and DH (3). He has also made his three pitching appearances in games in which he started in the batting lineup.
On the Horizon
The Falcons dip back into MW play as they welcome in preseason favorite San Diego State for a three-game set, March 20-21.
