THIS WEEK
After a brief break in the action, Air Force travels to Edinburg, Texas, to take on UT Rio Grande Valley, Friday, March 26. Kick-off against the Vaqueros is slated for 12 p.m. CT/11 MT at UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex. UTRGV is currently undefeated in WAC play (3-0-2) and is third in the league standings behind GCU and Seattle U, respectively.

LAST TIME THEY MET
Air Force fell to UT-Rio Grande Valley, 2-0, on October 6, 2019, in Western Athletic Conference action.
Lathan Spadafora led the Air Force attack taking four shots with two coming on frame. Quinn Matulis put the pressure on early taking the Falcons' first two shots, the second was on goal. The Air Force doubled up the Vaqueros in shots, 11-5, but were equal in shots on goal, 5-5.
Jared Dove and London Aghedo anchored the Falcon defense logging a complete 90 minutes on the pitch. Kainoa Likewise, goalkeeper out of Colorado Springs, Colorado, recorded two saves on five shots faced.
Kyle Edwards notched both of UTRGV's strikes in the second half. Edwards led the Vaqueros in shots, shooting two-for-two.'
LAST TIME OUT
Seattle U held off the Air Force attack to secure a shutout, 1-0, Tuesday afternoon (Mar. 16) in the Academy's Holaday Athletic Center. The Falcons, now on a three-game losing streak, dropped to 1-3-1 in the Western Athletic Conference while Seattle U improved 4-2-1 overall with a 3-1-1 mark in the league.
The Falcons and Redhawks played a scoreless first half with Air Force taking the advantage in shots, 7-4, in the first 45. Seattle U's keeper, Akili Kasim, recorded four saves in the first half while Falcon goalie, Kainoa Likewise, made two saves.
The first and only strike of the game came in the 65th minute as Noe Meza headed in a goal via Brad Kurtz's assist.
Air Force continued its attack on the Redhawk defense in hopes of finding an equalizer but Seattle U controlled the majority of second-half possessions, outshooting the Falcons 8-7.
Lathan Spadafora and Thaddaeus Dewing led Air Force in shots with four and three, respectively. They both put a shot on target. Quinn Matulis, who left the match early with a stinger to the ankle, fired off two shots on target in just 21 minutes of action. Eight Falcons attempted shots on the day.

Likewise made four saves on the day, allowing just one goal that was slightly out of diving reach. His counterpart, Kasim, recorded five saves.

The Falcons and Cardinals will be meeting for the seventh time in program history with Air Force remaining unbeaten in the six-game series. Last season, Air Force outscored UIW, 3-1, in San Antonio.
